AI costs

AI work is priced in plain euros, and you only pay for AI you actually use. There are no abstract "credits" — every action has a fixed, published price, and you see it before you commit. Full detail lives in AI costs & transparency; the essentials:

• Standard prices. Creating content is charged at fixed prices — for example about €0.15 to generate a lesson's text, €0.06 per generated image, €0.03 to create or regenerate a single block. What you see before generating is exactly what you pay.
• Learner interactions are metered at cost (typically around €0.01 each) — AI grading, dialogue role-plays, and the AI tutor.
• Manual edits are free. Only AI actions cost anything.
• Included budget refreshes each billing cycle (paid plans). Unused included budget does not carry over.
• Top-ups roll over. Budget you purchase on top never expires and carries from month to month. Add more any time from User Menu → Billing.
• Free plan accounts start with €10 of free credits sized for a first course, earn €3 on first publish and €3 when the first learner starts, and pay per use after that. See AI costs → Your first course is free.

Your current balance is shown as a pill in the account bar, and every charge is itemised on each course's AI costs page and the account-wide costs view.

Choosing AI models

Different AI tasks can use different models. Go to User Menu → Account → AI tab to select models for content generation, image generation, video generation, grading, programming, and translation. More capable models produce better results; the standard price you pay for each action is unaffected by the model you pick. See AI Features → Overview for details.

Changing your plan

1. Go to User Menu → Billing
2. Click Change Plan
3. Select the new plan
4. Confirm

Upgrades take effect immediately. Downgrades take effect at the end of the current billing period.

Note: If you downgrade and your current usage exceeds the new plan's limits (e.g., more than 3 courses on Free), existing courses remain accessible but you won't be able to create new ones until you're within limits.

Billing cycle

Plans are billed monthly or yearly. Your billing date is the day you first subscribed. Yearly billing saves ~17%.

Payment methods

LearnBuilder accepts major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express). Payment is handled securely via Stripe.

Invoices

Past invoices are available in Billing → Invoice History. Each invoice can be downloaded as a PDF.

Cancelling your subscription

1. Go to User Menu → Billing
2. Click Cancel Plan
3. Confirm cancellation

Your account reverts to the Free plan at the end of the current billing period. Your courses and learner data are retained. If you exceed Free plan limits, you'll need to delete content or upgrade to regain full access.

Selling courses (Stripe Connect)

To charge learners for courses, you need to connect a Stripe account. See Integrations for setup instructions.
