Personal Practice
A recap of what each learner got wrong, fresh questions on those points, and a recall email a week later.
Personal practice turns each learner's own mistakes into a short, individual follow-up. When a learner finishes a lesson, they can ask for a practice set: a recap of the points they personally got wrong, in the lesson's own words, plus three to five fresh questions on exactly those points. A week later, an optional email brings back three of those questions for a quick recall check.
Nothing in it changes the course. Practice never affects completion, scores or certificates; it is additive, clearly labelled as written for the learner by AI, and each set is saved so the learner sees the same one every time.
What the learner sees
At the end of a completed lesson, below the completion message, a Practice what you missed card appears.
- If the learner got everything right, the card says so and offers nothing else.
- Otherwise, Create my practice set builds the set in about a minute. The learner then sees:
- Your recap — one point per thing they got wrong: what they answered, what the lesson says is correct, and why it matters when the lesson says why.
- Try it again, a different way — new multiple-choice and fill-in-the-blank questions on the same points. Answers are checked when the learner clicks Check answers; explanations quote the lesson.
- The set stays on the lesson page; the learner can come back to it.
Where the misses come from
The recap is built from what the learner actually did in the lesson:

Teaching blocks, flashcards and workbooks have no right answer and are not part of it.
Turning it on
Course settings → Experience → Personal practice. Off by default.
- Recall email a week later — sends three of the learner's practice questions seven days after the set was created, with a link back to the lesson. On by default when practice is on.
- AI budget per learner — a ceiling on practice spend per learner for this course. One set costs about €0.20 to €0.25, so the options read as "about one lesson", "about two lessons", and so on. When the ceiling is reached the card tells the learner the budget is used up.
Per lesson: open the lesson's settings in the editor and set Personal practice to Course default, On for this lesson or Off for this lesson. Switching it off on a graded final test or a wrap-up lesson is the typical use.
Costs and where they show
Practice is learner-time AI, billed to the course's account at real cost when a learner creates a set. It appears under AI costs with the endpoint personal-practice. Nothing is spent for learners who don't ask for a set or who got everything right.
Limits
- Hosted courses only. Exported SCORM, xAPI and HTML packages have no server and show no practice card.
- Enrolled, signed-in learners only. Guests previewing a public course don't get the card.
- Questions are limited to multiple choice and fill in the blank so they can be checked without further AI calls.
- The AI is instructed to use only the lesson's own content and to keep every value exactly as the lesson states it. Authors of compliance courses should still spot-check a set or two after enabling the feature.
